Compliance of TDS provision w.r.t. payment of Remuneration out of advances

Subject: Compliance of TDS provision w.r.t to the payment of Remuneration out of advances.

 

This is in continuation to earlier letter No.2725-2924/FDO dated 19.08.2013.

 As you, kindly aware that the Conduct Branch/Secrecy Branch makes the payment of Remuneration concerning to evaluation and other Examination related duties out of advances drawn by concerned officers. All such payments are assessable towards the calculation of Income Tax Liability of the concerned recipient. As per the instruction in vogue, information of all such payments are to be given to the Salary Section for including such Remuneration in the total Income of the concerned employee for the purpose of deduction of Tax.

 It has been brought to the notice of the undersigned that in some of the cases, such information has been delayed due to which the major portion of due tax was deducted in the last quarter of the financial year. In order to avoid such delay, it is requested that the concerned Officer/Official may be advised to give information of payment of Remuneration on weekly basis to Salary Section. The information should not be withheld on the plea that the adjustment of advance is yet to be submitted. The above information must be given on weekly basis irrespective of submission of advance in the following format.
